Construction has officially begun on the new leisure quarter at Gershwin Park, Witham, marking another significant milestone in the continued development of the mixed-use destination.

The new leisure quarter will be home to a number of nationally recognised brands, including McDonald’s, KFC, Costa Coffee and Ionity, creating an exciting new food, drink and electric vehicle charging hub for both the local community and visitors travelling through the area.

Designed to complement the wider commercial development at Gershwin Park, the scheme will provide a high-quality roadside destination, supporting the park’s growing role as a key employment and business location in Essex. Together, the new operators will deliver a range of convenient amenities while creating new jobs and attracting further investment into the area.

Works are now underway on site, with construction progressing at pace. Modern construction methods will see the development take shape over the coming months, with the arrival of each occupier representing another step forward for the scheme.

Stephen Clark, Chairman of Churchmanor Estates, said:

“We are delighted to see work commence on the leisure quarter at Gershwin Park. Securing leading national operators such as McDonald’s, KFC, Costa Coffee and Ionity demonstrates the strength of the location and our vision for creating a destination that serves businesses, employees, local residents and travellers alike. This is another exciting chapter in the evolution of Gershwin Park, and we look forward to welcoming these brands to the development.”

The addition of the leisure quarter further enhances Gershwin Park’s offer, providing high-quality facilities alongside the site’s commercial and employment space. As construction continues, Churchmanor Estates looks forward to sharing further updates as the development moves closer to completion
